Work Location: On-site in New Brunswick, NJ
Responsibilities:
- Working within the Department of Neurology, prepares and administers Psychological and/or Neuropsychological testing in various formats, to include paper and pencil test, computer-based tests, or tests requiring testing equipment, such as picture tests and dexterity boards, under standard conditions.
- Explains testing procedures and objectives to subjects and works with subjects to facilitate compliance with protocol and procedures and to ensure appropriate test completion.
- Times tests and records results; identifies extraordinary test results, and immediately notifies the attending neuropsychologist.
- Provides observational summary which may include reference to patient/participant behavioral information, effort level, degree of redirection required.
- Assists in research through the systematic collection, preliminary analysis, and reporting of psychometric research data, using standard protocols.
- Assists the Neuropsychologists in scoring of selected tests within a Neuropsychological battery and in the administering and completing behavior rating scales, as appropriate.
- Coordinates and communicates appointment times and venues for the testing of individuals or subject groups.
- Maintains records of testing supplies, instruments, and equipment on hand and orders replacement stock as necessary under the direction of the Director of Neuropsychology.
- Ensures confidentiality of test results and recommendations; maintains security of testing materials.
- Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field and at least one (1) year of experience administering Psychological/Neuropsychological tests is required.
- Master's Degree in Psychology or a closely related field with an emphasis in tests and measurement is preferred.
- Effective oral and communication skills.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports required.
- Must have analytical, evaluative and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information in a manner easily understood by non-technical personnel.
- Working knowledge of Psychological and behavioral test scoring protocol, procedures and standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, visual perception, talking and hearing. Lifting up to 20lbs.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Vitalief partners with clients such as major medical centers and academic institutions that often requires all on-site resources such as prospective Vitalief consultants to be inoculated annually for Influenza and successfully pass a Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) for Mycobacterium Tuberculosis.
